I'm always looking for better ways to take care of my skin and I was hoping this would work even on my face skin but alas, it was not to be. My face became irritated when I used it on my cheek and forehead area. That being said the skin on my face is extremely sensitive so I didn't have high hopes to start with. It does just fine on my hands, knee caps and elbows. Its a nice nighttime moisturizer.

This is a clean limited ingredient product. I never thought I would put tallow of all thing son my face which used to be super oily. In my 40s now and my hormones are turning my skin drier. So much so I can't use all the oil blasting formulas of the past. I came across a suggestion to try tallow and I thought I might as well. It isn't as bad I as I expected. It has not caused me to breakout and I really need a super small amount to smear around my skin. (I definitely use much less than what would fit on the included wooden spatula) It can get greasy if I use too much but it makes my skin feel pretty nice. At first, it has a coated feel but it does seep into my layers and leaves my skin is supple—freely moving without any tight crackly feeling. Afterwards, I sometimes just run my hands over my hair to distribute any leftover to my strands. Maybe you're not supposed to, I don't know but I've used other hair oils so figured this might not be that bad and I don't want to waste any of it. I also really like this on my hand backs and fingers as I get cracked flaky skin there from so much daily washing. I have thin skin and it seems to have a hard time holding on to moisture. Winter is worse but even summer makes my hands look older than they are. This helps return some of the normal elasticity to them. It forms a protective barrier to repel water from my skin to break the dehydration cycle. I haven't had any adverse effects. I also haven't noticed any smells—it has a clean scent and very light. I didn't know what to expect from "fat" but it definitely doesn't smell like an animal so I assume this means it is highly refined/purified. I am not an expert user in this area so I don't have any experience to compare. This seems pretty expensive but maybe that takes into account the amount of refinery. But, at least it should last quite a while because as I mentioned, it does take just a tiny amount to produce effect. Good thing it has about a year before expiring. I like the small family feel though I did notice there wasn't any safety seals. That may add overall expense but perhaps even just adding some tape around the lid so buyers can be assured the product is new would suffice.
NOTE:
I read an online article for using tallow as a makeup remover/pre cleanser and I tried that but it dd not work out for me. After spreading it on my face as I would my normal oil balm, I proceeded to wash ti with warm water. My balm turns milky and washes off. This did not. It just repelled the water and left a thick sticky barrier. I did use my hydrating soap bar (Cerave) and it removed maybe half the tallow from my face. I left it at that figuring it would be a moisturizing film. So, unless I did the procedure incorrectly, I wouldn't suggesting trying to use this as a pre cleanser.

This grass-fed beef tallow face moisturizer is fantastic! The natural and organic ingredients, including rose hip oil and beeswax, are so nourishing and gentle on my sensitive skin. It's perfect for my face, hands, and lips. I love that it's unscented and leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and hydrated. A little goes a long way, and it's quickly become a staple in my skincare routine! There is no noticeable bad smell and it actually works better than higher end products I've tried! It's a total win!
